Thanksgiving 2016: A Time for Gratitude in America

November 23, 2016 astera

November is a time to give thanks, especially over Thanksgiving 2016. Take a moment to say a prayer for those in harm's way, serving and sacrificing away from a warm home and a loving family on behalf of our country.

This holiday weekend is also a time to recognize those who stand proudly behind them. November is Military Family Month, the annual call to arms for our nation to support the families who serve with our servicemen and women. All of us can relate to the sadness not having a dear friend or family member attend Thanksgiving dinner. Those who have loved ones serving in harm's way feel a special loneliness at this time of year.

Let's not forget that when one member of the family serves, the whole family serves.

Finally, with the unofficial start of holiday shopping and the travel season, our newsletter is a reminder for you to "Think Veterans Advantage First" for all your gift and travel ideas. Gift giving is one way you can extend your gratitude, so be sure to log into Members Only this Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend.

From our military family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!
